Manual Osteopathy

Osteopathic Manual Therapists in Canada focus on helping you to achieve health and vitality in your life. This is accomplished through the usage of three main methods of treatment.

Structural and Muscle Energy Techniques: focus on restoring full and unrestricted motion to the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia within the body.

CranioSacral Therapy Techniques: focus on releasing tensions and strains deep within the body. The focus is primarily the central nervous system (ie. from your brain, down your spinal column and into your sacrum). By releasing any stresses and/or pressures on this system, we can alleviate pain while also increasing your overall health and vitality.

Visceral Techniques: focus in on the organs and how they are moving. Organs, in our body are designed to move slightly, and they function best when free of restrictions. However sometimes they can get “jammed up”, this can be due to injury, scars and incisions, infections, etc. Thus by restoring normal motion to the organs, we can relieve pain and allow them to return to normal functioning.

Within a treatment session, you will also receive rehabilitative and therapeutic exercises and stretches, which will help you to recover quicker from any acute or chronic ailments, as well as dietary and lifestyle coaching, to help you on the road to recovery.
